About this song

Breya was told the metal was finite, the secret lost, the supply forever rationed. So she walked out of Esper's order and into the savage jungles of Jund, found the missing red stone, and forged new etherium with her own hands — then poured it through her own body to prove it. This is the anthem of the maker who proved an entire civilization wrong.

Lyrics

[Intro]

[Verse 1]
They told me the metal was counted and spent,
that the secret was buried, the well had run dry.
I bowed to the spires and I memorized the rules,
the Noble Work rationed, the silver-blue lie.
But I held a cold mirror to everything I knew,
and the answer they feared was the thing they forbade —
I would not be measured, I would not be told
how much of a marvel a maker is allowed to have made.

[Pre-Chorus]
So I walked from the order, from the logic, from the throne,
into the screaming jungle where no Esperite would go.

[Chorus]
I found the red stone in the dirt of a savage land,
crystallized fire I could close in a steady hand.
And I am the forge and the forged, I am proof in the spark —
I poured the new metal through my own beating heart.
Let them call it heresy, let the sphinxes go cold —
I made the impossible. I made it from fire.

[Verse 2]
Now the thopters spin up from the well that won't run dry,
little silver wings I can scatter through the sky.
And when I need the lightning, I unmake what I made —
melt an old creation down to fuel a sudden blade.
A blast for the doubter, a wound for the proud,
or a salvaged breath of living that I stitch back in, allowed.
Esper gave me reason. Jund gave me the flame.
The first one to hold both is the one who earns the name.

[Pre-Chorus]
They wanted a daughter of order, obedient and clean —
but order's just a question that the bold have never been.

[Bridge]
There's a tenderness in building that the cruel will never learn —
to love a thing enough to take it slowly, piece by piece.
I am mostly metal now, and the flesh I gave away
was the smallest price for finally feeling whole.

[Bridge build]
So let the worlds keep colliding, let the borders stay undone —
every chaos is a workshop if you're brave enough to come.

[Final Chorus]
I found the red stone in the dirt of a savage land,
crystallized fire I could close in a steady hand.
And I am the forge and the forged, I am proof in the spark —
I poured the new metal through my own beating heart.
Let them call it heresy, let the sphinxes go cold —
I made the impossible. I made it from fire.

[Outro]
Count the metal again, love. Count it slow.
There's more where that came from. Now I know.
